My father, being the professional partier that he is, always referred to New Year’s Eve as “amateur night.” Crowded restaurants. Jacked-up prices. Crazy people on the roads. “Who in his right mind would want to go out on a night like that?” he would say. We thought we might have some fun with our December Reader Survey and find out what you, our subscribers, had planned for the big night. 117 readers participated and most of you were planning a pretty low-key evening.
