JOHN REMSEN, JR. ELECTED TO LEGAL MARKETING ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Fort Lauderdale, Florida — January 16, 2002 — John Remsen, Jr. has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Southeastern chapter of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) for a fifth consecutive term. Remsen has served on the Board since the Chapter’s formation in 1996 and served as President for two terms (1998-99). He has also been a leader of LMA at the national level, having served on the national Board of Directors in 1996-97 and as Executive Editor of Strategies, its award-winning newsletter.

LMA is an 1,100-member professional association for individuals engaged in business development and marketing activities within the legal profession. Most of its members are in-house marketing directors at large law firms and marketing consultants to the legal profession. The Southeastern chapter covers a nine-state region — Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas — as well as Central America and the Caribbean.

John Remsen, Jr. is a nationally recognized expert on law firm marketing and is a frequent lecturer and author on law firm marketing topics. In 1997, Remsen formed The Remsen Group, a marketing consulting firm that works exclusively with law firms. Before that, he was the marketing director at Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart (West Palm Beach, Florida) and Porter, Wright, Morris & Arthur (Columbus, Ohio).
