JOHN REMSEN, JR. APPOINTED TO THE FLORIDA BAR’S STANDING COMMITTEE ON ADVERTISING

Fort Lauderdale, Florida - September 6, 2001 — Florida Bar President Terrence J. Russell, Esq. has appointed John L. Remsen, Jr. to serve as a member of The Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Advertising and Solicitation, effective July 1, 2001. Remsen’s term will expire in 2004.

The Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Advertising is responsible for enforcing Florida’s rules and regulations for all lawyer advertising, including television, radio, print and direct mail. Florida is among the strictest states in the country in the regulation of lawyer advertising and solicitation and many states look to Florida as a model for their rules and regulations in this area.

Remsen is a nationally recognized expert on law firm marketing and is frequent lecturer and author on law firm marketing topics. He has served as President of the Legal Marketing Association’s Southeastern Chapter (1999-2000) and as a member of LMA’s national Board of Directors (1996-1998). He holds an MBA from the University of Virginia (1985) and a BSBA in Finance from the University of Florida (1980).
